YARNELL, Ariz. (AP) - The water system for Yarnell is advising residents returning to their community after being evacuated because of the Yarnell Hill wildfire to boil water before consuming it.
The Yarnell Water Improvement Association says there's no known contamination but that the boil advisory is being issued because the water system lost pressure due to the fire and related activities.
The association says it expects to receive results on Tuesday from water sample testing.
Residents are advised to boil water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing or washing food.
The association also says it is banning high-volume usage such as watering landscaping or washing vehicles.
