SAHUARITA, Ariz. - The Sahuarita Pecan Festival is looking for vendors to sell pecan-themed foods at the Festival. Restaurants and caterers will have the opportunity to showcase their products at the event where an expected 5,000 to 10,000 people will be in attendance. Prospective vendors are encouraged to apply soon. The restaurant vendor application packets are available on the Festival's website at www.sahuaritapecanfestival.com. The Festival is seeking vendors in categories that include, but are not limited to: coffee and espresso drinks; fresh roasted pecans; sandwiches and soups; and kettle corn and fresh roasted corn. The Green Valley Pecan Company will sell discounted bulk pecans to restaurant vendors for use in any foods that will be sold at the Festival. Chefs are encouraged to be creative in menu items. Food vendors are approved on a first-come, first-served basis with specific emphasis on avoiding a duplication of foods sold. The Festival already has commitments from several restaurants and caterers, including Las Vigas Restaurant, the Dragoon Marketplace, and Café and Chef Chic personal chef and catering. The Sahuarita Pecan Festival will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 5 on the Green Valley Pecan Farm in Sahuarita, located at 1625 E. Sahuarita Road. The Festival will showcase local foods, products and crafts of the Santa Cruz Valley. There will also be musical performances from local groups.
