TUCSON - In our Restaurant Report Card, Marisco's Chihuahua's on E. 22nd Street had 20 violations. According to the report from the Pima County Health Department, there was an excessive number of flies in the restaurant.
After also discovering several foods were held at too high of a temperature, it was determined that the facility was not capable of holding cold food. All the cold food was thrown out and a repair company was called in.
The person in charge at the time of the inspection was unaware of any policies requiring a sick employee to report certain illnesses to management. The restaurant is required to create a policy, educate their employees and provide documentation of such to the health department.
Several knives stored as clean had encrusted deposits of food and some oily substance on them.
Marisco's Chihuahua is now operating on a provisional license.
We told you last week about Marymar Raspado on S. 6th Avenue receiving a "Needs Improvement" rating after it was discovered it didn't have a functioning hand sink. That violation has been corrected. So Marymar Raspados on S. 6th Avenue passed its re-inspection.
So let's take a look at some of the best of the week:
Jerry Bob's Family Restaurant on S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd., Trattoria Ragazzi on S. La Canada Dr. and Two Girls Pizza, W. Duval Mine Rd., all received an "Excellent" rating.
