TUCSON - A road widening project along Orange Grove Rd. is causing a major dilemma for nearby residents.
Construction crews are widening West Orange Grove Rd. from east of North Camino De La Tierra to west of North La Cholla Blvd.
Residents worry the new road will make their neighborhood noisier and less private, so they've signed a petition demanding sound barrier walls.
"We went walking around knocking on everybody's door trying to get these signatures," said Anjly Datta.
But the county conducted a noise analysis, and they said the results of the existing and future projected noise levels do not meet the criteria for installation of sound walls.
Residents said they will present their petition and continue fighting for sound walls.
