Residents allowed to return home evacuated by the Horseshoe 2 fire

WHITETAIL - Good news for Whitetail residents evacuated by the Horseshoe 2 fire. They have been allowed to return home Wednesday morning.

But they may experience heavy smoke at times and will see smoke from the fire.

The fire has burned more than 184,000 acres and is 60% contained.

Meantime, a public meeting will be held tonight for those affected by it. It will be at 6:00 p.m. At the Eldorado Community Center.

The Coronado National Forest and Chiricahua National Monument remain closed.
