PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 53-year-old man is dead following a home invasion.
Police spokesmen say the man died at a hospital after being injured during a scuffle with three armed and masked suspects who forced entry late Thursday night.
Sgt. Trent Crump says the suspects had gathered up the four residents of the home at gunpoint and forced them to the floor.
According to Crump and Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the suspects left the home after fatally injuring the resident. They remain at large and no descriptions are available.
Crump says detectives are withholding additional information about the victims until relatives can be notified. Police also aren't saying more about how the man was injured.
Thompson says investigators are trying to determine why the home was targeted for the robbery attempt.
