TUCSON - Injured Tucson congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is being considered for Time's 2011 list of the 100 most influential people.
Time's website is letting visitors vote on a list of 204 people to determine who is influential, and who is not. Rep. Giffords currently ranks 16 on the list, with 7,325 total votes to date.
Time.com states the familiar story of Rep. Giffords' life since January 8:
"Gabrielle Giffords' survival of a gunshot wound to the head, sustained during the Jan. 8 massacre in Tucson, Ariz., was called a miracle. For many, she exemplifies the healing power of determination and courage. Doctors who were initially unsure that she would ever breathe on her own again, let alone talk or walk, now say she may be able to attend the April launch of the final space-shuttle mission, which her husband Mark Kelly will captain."
Voting on the most influential people continues until April 14.
