TUCSON - Tucson receives record breaking rainfall for January 26.
Tucson International Airport picked up 0.71" today breaking the previous record of 0.67" set back in 1985, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. Enough residual moisture is hanging around to support showers through tomorrow afternoon.
A colder system is expected to dig into Southern Arizona on Monday morning bringing another round of scattered showers. The cooler air associated with this disturbance will drop snow levels to around 5000 feet on Monday.
Expecting to clear out by Tuesday but we remain cool with a daytime of only 54. Many areas will dip below the freezing mark to start Wednesday as the cold air lingers into midweek. Temps will quickly rebound going into next weekend.
