TUCSON - History is being made in the Sunnyside Unified School District.
A record breaking 900 students will earn diplomas, the highest number the district has seen.
This year's graduates were the first students as 9th graders to participate in Project Graduation.
Students were presented personal computers for their good grades, behavior and attendance.
There was a lot of school spirit at Sunnyside High School where more than 400 Blue Devils were wearing their caps and gowns.
"Wow, it's unbelievable, time flies so quick," says graduating senior John Fomeche.
Another says, "It still hasn't sunk in yet."
As freshman these students were the guinea pigs of Project Graduation, a proven success according to Sunnyside teachers.
"Most of the students had access to computers, so it just provided them more opportunities to succeed," said Sunnyside teacher Richard Majorga.
By August, Sunnyside will assign personal computers to every student in grades four through nine, thanks to a voter approved bond. Helping students in the classroom and preparing them for life.
"The University of Arizona, I plan to attend college and obtain my bachelors in engineering, so those are my future plans," says one student.
"College, that's my only choice. I'm hoping to study bio chemistry, pre med major to go to medical school," says Fomeche.
Congratulations class of 2012. Graduates in the Sunnyside district earned more than $2.2 million in college scholarships.
