TUCSON - This raw video clip from the Arizona Game and Fish Department shows boy scouts from Troop 747 of Vail installing small escape ramps in a water trough at the Empire Ranch.
These ramps help keep rodents, bats, birds and reptiles from drowning if they fall in the trough while drinking. the scouts installed 15 ramps on Sunday, in spite of the sometimes bad weather. The troop has installed 70 of these ramps over the past several weekends.
Ranch Manager Ian Tomlinson praised the effort, saying it helps keep the troughs clean for his livestock and helps youth understand wildlife and their habitat.
Thanks to Mark Hart from the Arizona Game and Fish Department for providing the raw video and pictures.
