RAW VIDEO: News 4 Tucson viewer catches a true flash flood on camera

TUCSON - If you've never experienced a flash flood, the video above should give you a pretty good idea.

Big thanks to viewers Bryan and Carla Rodgers for shooting this dramatic raw video near Miller Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains.

News 4 Tucson Meteorologist Jeff Beamish says that this is part of the Monument Fire burn area, and as such, the soil cannot absorb rainfall. Rainwater runs off rapidly and can create dangerous flash floods and strong mud flows.

This video shows a dry patch almost instantaneously becoming a raging river, truly putting the "flash" in flash flood, and is great evidence that every flash flood warning should be taken seriously.
