TUCSON - The Randolph All-Stars captured the District 12 Championship on Saturday night at Freedom Park. The club beat American Little League 17-3 to earn the title.
The two teams battled Friday, with Randolph jumping out to a 4-0 lead. However, American scored 10 straight runs to set up Saturday's winner-take-all final. The contest started much the same way, with Randolph again jumping out to a 4-0 lead. This time they would keep it.
Randolph spoiled American's hopes for a comeback, with strong pitching and excellent defense. But it was the offense that exploded in front of the Freedom Park crowd. The game was called after four innings due to the run-rule.
Randolph will now advance to the Western Regional. Tune in to KVOA News 4 Tucson on Sunday night to hear from the Randolph All-Stars.
