WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is expected to make a statement today about the beheading of American journalist James Foley by militants with the Islamic State extremist group.
Foley was kidnapped in Syria in November 2012.
The militants say his killing is in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes in Iraq.
Islamic State is also threatening to kill American journalist Steven Sotloff, who was kidnapped near the Syrian-Turkish border in August 2013.
