MARANA - There's a new mall coming to Tucson and the economic growth translates to new jobs.
Tucson Premium Outlets will be located at the Twin Peaks Interchange. It will turn into a shopper's paradise. There will be over 100 high quality stores covering 360,000 square feet.
Rodney Campbell, Town of Marana spokesman, told News 4 Tucson hundreds of jobs will be created and the town will see a substantial increase in tax revenue. That's the type of revenue that will turn into adding police officers, repairing roads, and building libraries.
Eventually hotels, and more retail is planned for the area. Campbell added, people from all over Southern Arizona and Mexico will be shopping there.
Tucson Premium Outlets is owned by Simon Property Group. The company has over 80 premium outlets. The majority are here in the United States, however, Canada, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Mexico are also included.
Some of the stores found in Simon Property Group include, Coach, Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, and Polo to name a few.
Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of the month. Tucson Premium Outlet will be open for business by the holidays in 2015.
