Prank on ASU landmark leaves campus seeing green

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - An overnight prank has forced an Arizona State University landmark to go green.

The Arizona Republic reports the giant A on "A'' Mountain in Tempe near Sun Devil Stadium was painted green sometime early Thursday morning.

Students attribute the prank to University of Oregon fans. The two schools are scheduled to face off in a football game Thursday evening.

ASU students had painted the A black ahead of the game and say as of 3 a.m. Thursday, the letter was still black.

Students have traditionally kept watch over the mountain before games with rivals.

Kick-off for the game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
