Approximately 18,000 people lost power in Santa Cruz County today.
The outage began at approximately 1:40 p.m.
According to Tucson Electric Power Company, service has been restored to some customers in the area, but crews are continuing to work in order to restore service to everyone.
TEP says the outage was caused by a guide wire making contact with a transmission line.
3,100 TEP customers also lost power in Pima County this afternoon.
Residents on the southeast side lost power at 1:20 p.m.
The outage lasted just over an hour.
TEP does not yet have a cause on this outage, but says it has nothing to do with the outage in Santa Cruz County.
