TUCSON - Portions of the Bonita Canyon Campground in the Chiricahua National Monument have been closed due to flooding concerns, with more closures possible, depending on actual rainfall and flooding.
"The threat of flash flooding remains extremely high and visitor safety is our primary concern," stated a representative from the Chiricahua National Monument. Conditions may change rapidly, so for the latest closure information, call the Chiricahua Visitor Center at: 520-834-3560, ext. 0.
"During monsoon season campers should never camp in washes or low lying areas where flooding could happen," the representative stated. "Take all precautions to ensure your campsite is in a safe area."
