TUCSON - Tucson police continue their investigation into an early morning homicide.

Police were called to the 900 block of East 31st St. around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Willie J. Bell, Jr. dead from gunshot wounds.

Gang detectives were called in to investigate the shooting.

Police learned that Bell was involved in an altercation in the 2000 block of South Park Avenue earlier, which may have led to the shooting.

At this hour, police continue to speak with witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
