Police shoot, kill possible serial robber suspect

TUCSON - An officer-involved shooting took place early morning, near E. Blacklidge Drive and Dodge Blvd. One man has been killed.

At approximately 4:42, officers received a 911 call from a 7-11 on E. Grant and Palo Verde reporting an armed robbery. The suspect was described as a six-foot tall black male, wearing all back and driving a dark colored car.

A nearby patrol officer saw a suspect and vehicle matching that description, and chased him to the area of Blacklidge and Dodge. Police tell us that the chase ended in an alley, where the suspect crashed into a fence. An altercation took place after this and what exactly happened is unknown, but the officer did end up shooting and killing the robbery suspect.

It's still unclear at this point whether this robbery, and shoooting have anything to do with yesterday's seven armed robberies throughout the city.

We are working to gather more information, and will bring you the latest.
