UPDATE - TUCSON - A Tucson police officer is in critical but stable condition after an accident on I-10.
According to police, Officer Mike Ryan was injured in a collision around 11:10am on eastbound I-10 near Valencia.
Officers say the Ryan was on his department motorcycle when he collided with a semi. We're told Ryan came to a stop underneath the semi. He was airlifted to UMC for treatment.
The Police Chief tells News 4, Officer Ryan has a broken hip and several broken bones, but is expected to recover. The Chief says another accident caused the semi truck to hit the officer.
Officer Ryan is a 25 year employee with the Tucson Police Department.

News 4 has learned the officer collided with a semi and came to a stop undernearth the semi. The officer was airlifted to UMC for treatment.
One lane of Eastbound I-10 is open at this hour so avoid the area if possible.
The name of the officer is not being released at this time.
