Police looking for suspect in Sunday's fatal shooting near 'A' Mountain

TUCSON - Police are still looking for a suspect in a shooting near "A" Mountain last night that left one man dead and another injured.

It happened just before 6:30pm Sunday in the 1800 block of South San Jose, west of Interstate 10, near Starr Pass Blvd. Police responded after getting a call of shots fired.

Sergeant Chris Widmer says police found one man dead inside a car. Another man was found outside of the car, in the desert. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police received information that someone involved in the shooting possibly ran into a nearby residence. Officers secured two residences, and SWAT personnel entered both locations, but did not find anyone.

At this time, no suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing, according to a TPD news release. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
