Police looking for hit and run suspect accused of hitting pedestrian

TUCSON - Tucson Police are investigating a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian. The accident happened around 5:30 Monday evening at Tucson Blvd. and Irvington.

According to Tucson Police spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer, the incident started as a two car crash in the parking lot of a nearby Fry's.

Sgt. Widmer says one of the cars involved in the crash took off and the victim followed in his vehicle. At Tucson Blvd. and Irvington the driver of the victim car got out of his car and confronted the suspect. Investigators say that's when the victim was hit by the suspect car.

The victim was taken to the hospital but his condition isn't known yet.

Tucson Police say the suspect vehicle took off. It's described as a blue or green Volkswagen 4-door.
