TUCSON - Tucson Police have identified the body found earlier this week in an apartment on Ajo Way near I-19.

TPD identified the woman as 47-year-old Carmelita Aguilar.

Police believe she was most likely murdered and did not die of natural causes.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Aguilar was also identified as the mother of 25-year-old Christopher Aguilar, who was previously arrested in the case.

He faces a charge of abandonment or concealment of a body.

Police say he was aware there was a dead body in the apartment while he continued to live there.

He has not been charged with causing the death.
