TUCSON - Police have identified a man who was found dead with "obvious signs of trauma" on Tucson's south side earlier this month - a suspect has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
Juan Ayala Moroyoqui, 50, was found lying in the street in the 100 block of West Tennesse Street, near Irvington Road and South 6th Ave., according to a news release from Tucson Police. Officers pronounced him dead at the scene.
Detectives determined that the suspect and victim knew each other, and were involved in a physical fight. As a result of the fight, the victim suffered blunt force trauma, which resulted in his death, the TPD news release states.
The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Jesus Martin Valenzuela. He was arrested and booked into Pima County Jail on one count of Second-Degree Murder.
