TUCSON - Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred near "A" Mountain earlier this month, and detectives continue to work to determine a suspect or suspects.
At about 6:30 p.m. on November 4, officers responded to a report of shots fired near 1800 South San Jose Drive to find 35-year-old Francisco Moreno-Urena suffering from gunshot trauma, according to a news release from Tucson Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man was found outside of the car, in the desert. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police received information that someone involved in the shooting possibly ran into a nearby residence. Officers secured two residences, and SWAT personnel entered both locations, but did not find anyone.
At this time, no suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing, according to a TPD news release. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
