Police identify body found in dumpster Tuesday morning

TUCSON - Police have identified the body of a woman seen being left by a man in a midtown dumpster.

A resident near the 3400 block of East Monte Vista Drive, near Glenn and Country Club, saw a man dump the body of 49-year-old Deanna Barnum in a dumpster at about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to a news release from Tucson Police. The resident chased the man, but did not catch him and called police.

Police found no signs of trauma on the Barnum's body when they pulled it from the dumpster.

Tucson Police searched the area and found a man matching the description of the man who dumped the body. He was detained and interviewed, and his role in the incident, if any, is still under investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
