PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix have arrested the girlfriend of a man who died after being hit by a car while out walking.
Sgt. Trent Crump says 20-year-old Jacob Rice was walking on a path near 27th Avenue and Westland Road early Saturday when he was struck by a car that left the roadway.
Crump says investigators have arrested Rice's girlfriend, whose name has not been released.
Police have booked her on one count of leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
Police say initial reports indicated the driver in the incident fled the scene without notifying authorities or trying to administer aid.
