TUCSON - The Pima County One-Stop Career Center's Summer Youth Program is now accepting applications through March 15th.
Last year 1,560 of 4,000 applicants were accepted. The County pays young people, ages 14 to 21 to essentially take on an internship in a career field they are interested in. The interns make some money and the company gets an extra set of hands.
Participants take a one day "employability skills" workshop to learn a bit about the work environment before going into the professional setting.
There are a wide range of jobs available. For more information call the Pima County Summer Youth Employment Hotline at 520-798-0546. To register go to https://secure.pima.gov/summeryouth.
