TUCSON - The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirms one of its deputies has been involved in an accident near Valenica Rd. and Mark Rd.

The accident happened around 10:15 am Thursday. A department spokeswoman says the deputy was driving eastbound on Valencia Rd. Another vehicle, officials say, headed east on Valencia turned left in front of the deputy, hitting the patrol vehicle.

Deputies say both the deputy and the female driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
