Pima County Recorder's Office reminding Independent and Party Not voters to register

TUCSON- The Pima County Recorder's Office is reminding Independent or Party Not Designated voters they can still vote in the upcoming Primary Election on August 26 without changing political parties.

These voters can choose one political party to vote for in the Primary Election.

Voters can call the Recorder's Office at (520) 724-4330 or go to www.recorder.pima.gov to request a ballot.

According to the Recorder's Office, only 17,867 Independent voters in Pima County have requested a ballot for the Primary Election.

"This number is less than 9% of the 156,144 voters who are registered with no party affiliation and are eligible to vote in this Primary Election," Pima County Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez said. "We want to be sure that those voters know that they can request a political party ballot from our office."

Independent voters make up almost one-third of the registered voters in Pima County.
