TUCSON, AZ - A Pima County sheriff's deputy has been released from the hospital after being shot in the leg during a struggle that resulted in another man being fatally shot by the deputy.
The Sheriff's Department says Deputy Jesus Davila was responding at a call about a suspicious man with a weapon when the incident occurred Saturday at a convenience store.
The Sheriff's Department identifies the man killed as 41-year-old Alvin McBride.
According to Deputy Tracy Suitt, Davila and McBride spoke briefly before a struggle ensued and McBride pulled out a gun and shot Davila.
Suitt says the struggle continued before Davila was able to use his own gun to fatally shoot McBride.
