TUCSON - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in locating a 59-year-old man who has been missing from a south side nursing home since last Wednesday.
Yesterday, deputies responded to a nursing home in the 5800 block of South Aldorn Drive, located near Interstate 10 and Alvernon, where staff reported that 59-year-old Daniel Mendez has been missing since Wednesday, September 26, according to a PCSD news release. On that day, he was at a dialysis center at 3662 South 16th Ave. for treatment.
Mendez was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt, officials state. He is about 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and has brown eyes and white hair. Mendez is a Native-American and typically has his reading glasses with him. He also has a bad limp, officials state, and usually relies on a walker to get around. He is a diagnosed diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure and Tuberculosis.
Mendez has frequented the area of 44th St. and 6th Ave. in the past.
Anyone with information on Mendez's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
