TUCSON - Local children who've seen the hardships, including poverty and homelessness, were given a chance to share their dreams and help others at the same time. For a second year, renowned photojournalist, Linda Solomon and O'Reilly Chevrolet have sponsored "Pictures of Hope."
A group of six to thirteen year olds were given a quick tutorial on how to take a good photograph, then they were given digital cameras and set loose. What resulted are a series of powerful images. What local kids are hoping and dreaming to achieve.
The children's work was made into holiday greeting cards. 100% of the proceeds will go to the "New Beginnings" program and "Our Family Services." That's an organization that helps women and children who've fallen on hard times.
To purchase the cards: go to the "Our Family Services' administration building, 2590 N. Alvernon Way. You can also call (520) 325-8800 or go online to http://www.ourfamilyservices.org
