PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are seeking the public's help in a 2007 assault and homicide.
Police on Saturday offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to any arrests in the slaying of 55-year-old Charles Saldate.
Authorities say Saldate was working as a security guard at a Circle K convenience store on March 23, 2007 when two men assaulted him.
They say the men, described as black with braided corn rows, also stole Saldate's gun before fleeing the scene.
Then on June 1, 2007, Saldate was killed outside his home minutes after arriving home from work.
Witnesses told investigators that several black males left the scene, including in a vehicle similar in description to one seen during the Circle K robbery.
Police say the vehicle is a white or tan 1980s Oldsmobile Cutlass.
