Phoenix police: Couple found killed in home

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are investigating the killings of a married couple in their north Phoenix home.

Sgt. Steve Marcos says officers found the bodies of 81-year-old William Singer and his 64-year-old wife Wednesday afternoon. The wife's name wasn't released immediately.

According to Marcos, detectives determined that trauma and evidence at the scene indicates the deaths are a double homicide.

Marcos says officers went to the home to check on the couple's welfare after a caretaker got no answer at the door to the home.

The home is in a neighborhood near Central Avenue and Bell Road.
