Phoenix officer's porn work comes to light

PHOENIX (AP) - A retired Phoenix Police officer's moonlighting job as a porn website operator is coming to light.

KPHO-TV (http://bit.ly/JWAOCh) reports police recently learned former Sgt. Michael Zeller ran a porn site with his wife and starred in two adult films.

Police spokesman Tommy Thompson says the department was made aware of Zeller's porn work from the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association.

Thompson says Zeller's conduct was not illegal but he likely would have been fired had he not already retired.

Thompson says that kind of activity undermines the public's trust.

Police say Zeller admitted to starting the site with his wife after someone initiated a complaint with the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.

The board says Zeller, who could not be reached for comment, will not lose his state certification.
