TUCSON - Tucson Police confirm they have detained a person of interest in connection to Sunday's officer involved shooting that critically wounded Sgt. Robert Carpenter.

The person was detained at the Randolph Park Hotel Monday evening. Witnesses tell News 4 the incident included members of the SWAT team.

Police on the scene into the late evening were seen searching a U-Haul truck and another vehicle, but it is not known what they were looking for.

Tucson Police wants to stress the person of interest has only been detained and is facing no charges.
