TUCSON - No weather worries this Friday. Next Friday could be a different story.
Southern Arizona will catch the tail end of a weak storm system today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This serves to cool temps down to the low 80's this afternoon & through the weekend. Plan on mostly sunny skies the next few days with a few cirrus cruising through the state.
Early next week features a high pressure ridge, which brings another round of abnormal heat. By Election Day, highs peak in the upper 80's for Tucson with ample sunshine. Temperatures Monday through Wednesday run roughly 10 degrees above average.
Models continue to hint at a significant pattern change for the state late next week. A cold front develops over the Gulf of Alaska, dropping into Arizona around next Friday. We could see a chance of valley rain, mountain snow, gusty winds and much cooler temperatures.
