Ample sunshine and highs in the upper 80's are on tap this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. High pressure parked over the Arizona/New Mexico border drives temperatures today 1-3° above average. Winds today will be 10-15 MPH out of the west.
A powerful Pacific cold front moves toward the state heading into the weekend. Gusty winds & a high fire danger develops tomorrow. By Saturday, the front touches off isolated showers during the afternoon and evening hours. Areas northeast of Tucson stand the best chance for rainfall.
Temps this weekend run below average by a factor of 10°, with highs only reaching the mid 70's.
