PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - A Peoria husband and wife have been arrested in the death of a man whose body was pulled from a city canal last week.
Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say 41-year-old Nathan Carl Perez and his 40-year-old wife Billie Jean Perez were taken into custody Saturday.
Nathan Perez is being held on a $750,000 bond on suspicion of first-degree murder and concealing a dead body.
His wife was booked into the jail on suspicion of hindering prosecution.
It's unclear if they have lawyers yet.
A bicyclist discovered 35-year-old Rolland Lee Tockey's body floating in a Peoria canal Wednesday. Authorities say he had a gunshot wound.
Sheriff's officials say evidence found at the Perez home led to the arrests, but didn't disclose what was found that linked the couple to the homicide.
