TUCSON - A 56-year-old woman is recovering at University of Arizona Medical Center after a car struck her Saturday.

It happened around 6:37pm near Ina and La Canada.

According to Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the woman was crossing in the middle of the roadway.

One car swerved to avoid hitting her.

A Honda sedan behind that car struck her.

The woman has some injuries to her right side upper body.

She's in serious but stable condition.
