TUCSON - A 61-year-old motorcyclist was killed northwest of Tucson this morning when a passenger care failed to yield at a stop sign , Pima County Sheriff's Department officials confirmed in a news release.
At about 8:09 a.m. Friday morning, PCSD received a report of a traffic collision at Thornydale Road and Lambert Lane. The Sheriff's Traffic Unit responded and determined through evidence and interviews that the passenger car was driving east on Lambert and failed to yield to the oncoming motorcycle at the stop sign. The motorcyclist struck the sedan on the driver's side.
The rider of the motorcycle, later identified as William Henry Swier, was wearing a helmet. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
