TUCSON- More than 250 members of the U.S. Air Force will hit the books to become paramedics at Pima Community College.
Last night, the Pima Community College Governing Board approved a five year contract to train 260 students to be paramedics. PCC will offer 10 sessions with 26 students in each class, with the first session kicking off August 11. Air Force personnel will travel from all over the country to stay in Tucson during the four month course.
The Air Force awarded PCC with the contract after sifting through requests from colleges nationwide.
PCC's paramedic program is the first in Arizona to gain accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
