TUCSON - Pima Community College East Campus will be closed Oct. 26 and 27 for emergency repairs to its cooling system. All classes and events are cancelled as a result.
According to a news release, contractors and PCC maintenance crews will work through the weekend to repair an underground leak discovered Friday at the campus, 8181 E Irvington Road.
The repairs require the cooling system to be shut down. Since we're expecting warm temperatures all weekend, everything will be closed.
The campus is expected to re-open for regular business and functions on Monday, Oct. 28.
The Halloween BooBash, co-sponsored by the College and City of Tucson, will be held as scheduled Oct. 26 at the William Clements Center.
Online classes are not affected by the cancellation and will proceed as scheduled.
The closure affects 15 credit classes and one GED class, and approximately 300 students in the classes. In addition, approximately 300 more students could be affected by the closure of the library and student services, and cancellation of another scheduled event.
