ORO VALLEY - Customers at the Sprouts Farmers Market on North Oracle may have had their credit or debit card information compromised.
The grocery chain said Friday that the point-of-sale system at 19 stores were targeted in Arizona between Jan. 25 and Jan. 29, including the Oro Valley location.
Sprouts officials said they replaced the hacked equipment within hours of learning sensitive information had been exposed. Customers are being advised to check their bank statements for fraudulent activity.
The company is now working with a data security firm to beef up their point-of-sale procedures, officials said.
