MARANA - Marana residents interested in running for town council next year can attend a candidate orientation on October 30th.

The orientation will be held at the Marana Municipal Complex Council Chambers at 11555 W. Civic Center Drive from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates will learn about filing papers, campaign finance reports, open meeting law, political signs and ballot measures for publicity pamphlets. They also will have the opportunity to ask questions of the Town Clerk's Office.

Four seats will be contested in the primary election March 12, 2013 and, if necessary, the general election May 21, 2013.

Next year will mark the first time the Town holds an all-mail election. Limited polling locations will be open election day for ballot drop-off.
