TUCSON - Another day of little storm action across southern Arizona.
Dry air wins out again this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Only isolated storms are expected today in Cochise, Graham & Greenlee Counties with mostly sunny skies elsewhere. Highs on this Thursday top out in the upper 90's to 100's for the metro.
Today's Monsoon Prediction Index is at a 2 out of 10, as there is a low risk of severe weather with the isolated storms east of Tucson.
High pressure moves toward the Rockies tomorrow, drawing in Monsoon moisture and an inverted low pressure trough. This leads to a chance of isolated storms Friday for southern Arizona. An active Saturday looks likely, with scattered thunderstorms possible during the afternoon and evening hours.
Expect a daily round of isolated storms Sunday into next week.
