PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN - Pakistani intelligence officials say an American drone attack has killed eight suspected militants in a region close to the Afghan border.

The strike Saturday was the second American drone operation in Pakistan this week.

It comes as Washington and Islamabad are trying to rebuild their badly damaged relationship.

Pakistani opposition to the drone strikes is a major stumbling block.

The officials said the missiles hit a house in the Dra Nishtar area of North Waziristan.

They didn't give their names because they were not authorized to be named in the media.
