TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies and three fire agencies are now looking for a woman who has been missing since last night, after her car got stuck in a flooded area on Tucson's west side.
Officials confirm to News 4 Tucson that the car driven by the woman and her husband, both in their 60's, got stuck in a wash near Manville Road and Sandario late last night. The husband was able to get out of the car, but the woman was swept away by floodwaters, officials say.
When the man made contact with officials, he told them he reported that his wife was swept away, and that he saw another man in the area with broken legs. Officials were able to rescue that man and the husband of the woman who was swept away.
This morning, Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies are searching for the missing woman, with assistance from Avra Valley, Picture Rocks, and Northwest Fire District crews. A Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine helicopter has responded to the search.
