TUCSON - Authorities have confirmed that the body found yesterday on Mount Lemmon is that Janet Rennspies, an Oro Valley woman who went missing last week.
Rennspies, 51, was reported missing Thanksgiving Day. Her family told police that she was going to watch the sunrise, but never came home.
Right now, Pima County investigators are trying to figure out what lead up to Rennspies' death.
Her body was found in the Mount Lemmon area Tuesday afternoon by a hiker who told police the body fit the description of the Rennspies.
She had been missing since last Wednesday. On Friday of her car was found in a Mount Lemmon parking lot.
This weekend, search and rescue crews combed though the Mount Lemmon area looking for her, and on Monday, they called off the search.
Now they are gathering up clues to piece together what happened.
"Right now everything is under investigation at this time," said Lt. Kara Riley with Oro Valley Police. "We have no final conclusion on what the body has shown us in reference to any evidence, because that really takes a long time."
Rennspies' son, Brenden Lawless, told News 4 Tucson that his family just suffered a loss. Now, they're dealing with another one.
